What is the meaning of the song Vertical Limit by Linkin Park?

I love linkin park!
The song is about someone who is hurting on the inside but not showing it. Hiding who they really are and subconsciously hurting everyone around them so they don’t feel so bad about themselves.

Forfeit the game, stop the talk show.
Product of what, your taught to know.
Forfeit the game, cause tomorrow
When its all done, you reap what you sow.

You love the way, I look at you
While taking pleasure in the awful things you put me through
You take away if I give in
My life, my pride is broken

You like to think you’re never wrong
(You live what you’ve learn)
You have to act like you’re someone
(You live what you’ve learn)
You want someone to hurt like you
(You live what you’ve learn)
You want to share what you’ve been through
(You live what you’ve learn)

You love the things, I say I do
The way I hurt myself again just to get back at you
You take away when I give in
My life, my pride is broken

You like to think you’re never wrong
You live what you’ve learned)
You have to act like you’re someone
(You live what you’ve learned)
You want someone to hurt like you
(You live what you’ve learned)
You want to share what you’ve been through
(You live what you’ve learned)

How would you rate chinese people liberation army?
I found some questions ridiculous on yahoo answer regarding chinese army. Apparently they think the only strong point of Chinese army is they know kung fu -_- Here is what I understand about PLA and base on my info and facts you know for sure, how would you rate Chinese army?

As of now china has the largest army in the world. Their equipments are not as good as ones issued to british army and US army, standard chinese arm is type 54 pistol and the more recent type 90 pistol. For ground force, china has estimate 7000 tanks, it’s newest tank type 99 is consider one of the 12 strongest tank in the world, however due to expense in production of these tanks, type 90 is not largely in service. The majority of chinese tanks are type 98 main battle tanks and type 96. So I wouldn’t say their ground force is as backward as people may think. China been developing advance defence system since 1980, I know for fact they they possess EMP weaponry since 2007, however at that time they were having problem with power supply (I have some internal info on this matter). China also possess the technology to defend against air strike, Satellite espionage, and naval attack. China possess very advance defencive technology. For air force, Chinese air force as of now is currently in third generation of fighter development, with J-10 being its most advanced fighter with super-sonic capability, I would not say China has strong air force, however, in situation of defence, it’s capable of hold air space with help of anti-air defence. For naval force, almost all China’s naval force is green water, which means short ranged with little to no capability of doing long range naval battle outside of Chinese water. Recently due to the pirate incident however, it is indicated that Chinese navy does indeed have some degree of blue water battle capabilities. China declared it intention of building carrier in 2009, with carrier in chinese navy, PLA is no longer a green water based navy, but long range. Also with the help of carrier, now the chinese water are now all within air strike range should need arise. Apart from conventional ships, China possess very advanced submarines, due to early Soviet help. Chinese submarines are one of the best in the world. So generally speaking, PLA navy is very defence oriented. however in some area its navy is very capable of taking out special targets in long range, but no ability to fight large scale naval warfare.

Here’s all my info on PLA. I think PLA is very defence oriented, but definably not backwater army with only number and no technology. With Chinese annually increase military spending, it is possible PLA’s army issue equipments will soon exceed British army. And for each chinese army men, they are not badly trained as well. Chinese soldiers pulled some very incredible feats during the korean war with US, with no air-support of any kind, solely on the incredible discipline, they were able to defeat and push back US army to the point which the commander request pentagon consider using nuclear device to ensure victory. And do keep in mind, back then PLA has very little in term of arms and they had no air units at all. So no, I wouldn’t say China produce bad soldiers, in fact, I think China produce incredible soldiers whom can take on british soldier one and one in fair combat.

Here is my PLA rating:

Soldier: 4/5 for soldier discipline 3/5 for equipments 7/10 in total

Ground force: Mobile forces: 4/5, defence capability (Anti-air, anti Satellite, anti ground and naval defence) 5/5 9/10 in total

Air force: air superiority on chinese air 4/5, outside chinese air 3/5 (this includes any kind of missle strikes) total 7/10

Naval: green water navy 4/5, blue water navy 2/5, total 6/10

Anyone who wish to add on my infos (which could be wrong, do point out if you find faults). please do and please rate chinese army base on this. I would like to know how PLA fair in people’s eyes. Thank you.
There are rumors about decline in soldier eqality recently mostly due to recent terriorist attacks were effectively dealt with in western region. However I do believe the overall capability of Chinese soldiers aren’t bad at all because they all undergoes very harsh training.

For the other dude whose saying most chinese army is tied down to conflict within China, this is not true. For civilan incidents, China has very capable police force. If you are referring to terriorist activities, PLA has more than enough people to deal with threats. I know they whole Tibet thing China did move some troops, however, not even close to one military area, (China has eight military areas)
For the paper tiger friend. You seem to be a anti-chinese person. We don’t shoot our civilians. In fact in 2008, for the purpose of not hurting civilans in armed gun fight, new arms issued by Police is a new chinese made pistol with very little penetration power to ensure if misfire, civilans will not be in mortal danger. If you are talking about a riot, I believe Chinese army uses water and tear gas as oppose to actual bullets.

And please, read before post. If you are saying PLA is a paper tiger, then point out which part of my info is wrong, thus prove PLA is not as strong as I suppose. Otherwise, your words just shows how prejudice you are toward chinese people and PLA.

Strangely, i enjoyed reading that to be honest. I think the majority of your analysis is spot on, and dont be dissapointed by the negative feedback by Americans, as they all seem to believe that Russians, Chinese and North Koreans are some form of sub-human which aren’t comparable to a white American man.

However, having worked in the Japanese self defense forces, i used to work in the intelligence sector, and i must tell you, what you read on the net, and see on tv is almost complete opposite of what the Chinese army is really like.
The PLA tell the world that they currently spend around 2% of their budget, which is apporixmately 40 – 60 billion US dollars, but any well informed person, or former military personel will know this is most obviously an absolute lie.
Joint US and Japanese predictions are that China spend between 90 – 95 billion US dollars annually on the military, and due to recent equipment renewals and ‘modernising’ the PLA, this wont be very far from the truth.

They are definetly NOT a paper tiger, and will easily take on all countries surrounding them, and thats not even bringing up the option of using their nuclear weapons, in which they hold some of the most advanced delivery systems in the world, comparable of that to Russia, who they work with very closely.

in addition, members of the nuclear club, which is a huge gambit to play in any encounter, thus pretty much ensuring any large nation would never wage open war against them.
f_ranz1224 | Dec 28, 2009

Hard to judge this army, since the only people they have ever fought in a real war were unarmed or poorly armed civilians and a very long ago. My guess is, they are probably extremely bad.
Jack | Dec 28, 2009

The PLA has absolutely no ability to project power anywhere outside of China’s borders and those states that are contiguous to China. The PLA is more or less tied down protecting China’s government from China’s citizens.

War is 90% logistics and I have no reason to believe the Chinese could support an army in the field, away from China, for any length of time.

Are There Any Electronic Music Producers In Seattle?
I’m going to Seattle for vacation and I’m thinking about recording some music while I’m there. I’m an aspiring artist looking for a RedOne-type of producer in Seattle but it’s impossible to find one through google. I need a producer that makes electronic-pop/techno music similar to (for example) Lady Gaga. Does know any electronic music producers in Seattle or any recording studios in Seattle that produces electronic music?

Note: RedOne is a popular electronic music producer that has produced hits for Lady Gaga (for example: Poker Face), Space Cowboy, The Backstreet Boys, etc.
P.S. The music I want produced is original music I’ve composed myself.

Thats not how it works. The recording studio and the producer are usually separate. You find a producer online (the producer can be in Egypt or Africa, it doesnt matter where they are located, you dont need one in Seattle). You purchase a beat from them (if you want it to be custom, then they will have a way where you can work together online until you reach an agreement on how you like the song), have them send you the beat, either on a cd through mail, or the easier method of allowing you to download it from them or have it sent to you in an email (along with an agreement that you have exclusive rights to use the beat, or licensed rights if you dont care if they sell the beat to other people as well). If you are paying a lot of money for the beat and dont know if you can trust them, then you go through an escrow service online, who works as a middle man to ensure nobody gets ripped off.
Once you have the beat, you put it on a cd, then google "seattle recording studios". You call them up and ask about their rates for however long you think it will take you to record, then you make an appointment and go there and bring the cd with you. They will record your voice and put the voice on cd for you. Some recording studios will do the mixing of the song as well if you pay them for that (putting your vocals with the music and making it sound like a genuine song). If they dont do that, or if you want to shop around, then google "mixing and mastering services". Once you find someone you want to mix and master it, you send them the music and the vocals on a cd (2 separate tracks, not mixed together on a track, they will mix it together).
Make sure you copyright it all before you do anything though.

edit:
Ok well copyright it and find a producer online. You dont want to be paying hourly for that unless you’re a millionaire and don’t mind wasting money. To bring a producer down to a recording studio and have them work with you on something you’ve already composed is going to cost a great deal of money. It’s easier for the producer (and more importantly, cheaper for you) if you just find a producer online, send them your composition, and work with them on the phone or through online messengers to get it the way you want at a flat rate instead of an hourly rate). There’s not many producers out there that will produce instrumentals/beats that somebody else composed though, you’ll have a hard time finding many online, much less in Seattle. Producers usually already have their beats produced, and only modify them to a customers specifications. Most dont normally compose songs from scratch that other people composed. They want to take credit for their work so they can add it to their portfolios.

Hard question for an engineer?
1. A steel shaft 5m long, having a diameter of 50 mm, is to transmit power at a rotational speed of 600 rev/min. If the maximum shear is limited to 60 MN/m^2. Determine the following
a) The maximum power that can be transmitted.
b) The corresponding angle twist.
Assume the modulus of rigidity for steel is 80 GN/m^2

2. A hollow steel shaft with a diameter ratio of 0.75 and a length of 4m is required to transmit 1 MW at 120 rev/min. The maximum shear stress is not to exceed 70 MN/m^2 nor is the overall angle of twist to exceed 1.75
