Can you recommend me some good aviator sunglasses?
I’m looking for some good, fairly cheap aviator sunglasses. If any of you know some good brands and could post a link I’d be happy. The best answerer gets ten points. Thanks.

I’ve been wearing a pair of Spy sunglasses for around 2 years now, for $80, they’re cheaper than the old Oakley M Frames I had for years. They’re also lighter because of the polycarbonite frames rather than the stainless of the Oakleys.

If you’re talking cheap, wrap arounds, (my preference,) Easton makes a cheap polycarbonate sunglasses for baseball. Remington makes some for shooting at outdoor ranges.

As far as true "Aviators," Rayban probably has the best. I stopped buying them because I could never remember to check the screws and the lenses kept falling out over cement, thereby shattering them before I could catch them.

A gift I give to a friend who routinely looses sunglasses as an annual sort of deal, is about $100 worth of dollar store sunglasses that I think will look decent on him. It’s my return to he and his wife for feeding me and keeping beer for me in stock.

Oakleys are pushing $150 at the low end. The Spy’s were about $80, and I was paying about $50 a pair for Raybans 15 years ago.

If those don’t help you find a style you like that’s available on e-Bay, Sporty’s Pilot Shop should have something.

Mosy of the guys use the real ray bans and not the fake ones,
you really need to block out uv in the air.

You can purchase regular military type pilot sunglasses at the following site. I love them.

Only buy cheap sunglasses if you are protecting cheap eyes.

I wore Randolph aviator glasses through most of my military career, because you could pick them up at any military exchange store, but I really like the Serengeti Drivers because the amber color makes them much more effective in low light or overcast conditions, while still blocking harmful UV rays.

I use Maui Jim sport. the titanim frame. they are great for bright days, especially over water. They are very slim, so they fit behind the earseals on a headset without causing noise or a headache.

Downfall–they are polarized. this is actually a good thing, but when looking at the LCD displays inside a cockpit, the display will go blank at certain angles.

I know they’ve been recommended already, but I’ll add a vote for Serengeti glasses with driver lenses. The amber color of the lenses helps cut right through haze and they work well in all lighting conditions. They aren’t cheap, but, like most other things in life, you get what you pay for. Most pilots spend several hundreds of dollars protecting their ears… why not give the same priority to protecting your eyes?

My bullfrog swallowed rocks. :/ Help?
So I have a bullfrog who’s about 5-6 years old. She’s a large female. About the length and width of my hand, even with the fingers outstretched.

She was living fine on a river rock bedding, up until I dropped in a few goldfish for her. She managed to kick them up from the corner of her tank she uses to sunbathe and has -definitely- swallowed some. I say definitely because as I was gently searching her stomach, I could ear them click together.

She’s apparently swallowed some of the small fish gravel, but she’s large enough that I know she could easily pass them. The other rocks, however, are about nickel-quarter sized. In comparison, maybe two keys wide on a computer keyboard.

She’s not swollen and still struggles when held. We thought you could simply work them back up into her throat and get her to spit them out but. Of course it’s never that simple. She is a little on the fat side but she did just clear off 9 goldfish without flinching so I also take that into account and haven’t started assuming the worst yet.

I know the risks of impaction and all but have heard of a pacman frog passing a nickel within a few weeks so I still have a mild hope for her.

I’ve done the research on vets in the local area and none are -seriously- qualified to handle amphibians and I don’t want to put her under THEIR care for a surgery if they aren’t completely able to care for her. Not to mention I’d have to travel a distance to get to any of them.

So is there any suggestions that could put my worrying to rest?

My best friend says that she can’t be totally doomed. Not when frogs most likely swallow rocks in the wild by accident anyhow. And there’s only two larger sized rocks I can feel. And, mind you, she was found in a friend’s pool shortly after a snow so she was, at one point, wild.

:/ Do I just watch out and make sure she keeps her appetite and doesn’t bloat or what? Lend me a hand?

She’s been transferred over onto the same terrain I use for my pacman in hopes for her to pull through. ALSO. All the rocks are rounded and smooth. None are jagged. And I’ve seen my pacman pass some pretty large stools so.

Again. What do you all think?

don’t mind her shes only a bullfrog theres lots of bullfrog in the world
